Small Faith Communities

Several types of communities are available in our parish: the larger Taize group which meets at church, and is open to anyone who is seeking a deeper sense of God's peace; and the small faith groups which meet in parishioners homes.

The Taize style service began during World War II after a group of Catholic and protestant brothers came together to form a community located in Taize, France. This community was formed to heal the wounds of WWII and bring people together through forgiveness and love.

Taize services at Church of the Resurrection include scripture readings followed by 7 to 8 minute meditation periods, Taize songs and prayers. They meet the 2nd Thursday of each Month (unless otherwise announced) from 7:00- 7:50 pm. Low lighting and candles add to the peaceful atmosphere of the service. For more information on Taize, go to

Small Faith Groups

Groups of parishioners (usually 8 – 14 people)  who have a desire to study their Catholic faith and grow in fellowship, meet together either weekly or bi-weekly for 2 to 3 hours.  Topics vary among the groups.

Some choose to study the following Sunday’s readings and discuss how they relate to member’s faith and lives.
Some groups review and discuss different books about our Catholic faith.
Others choose to do social justice projects.
