O come, O come, Emmanuel! Dear Resurrection brothers and sisters, What a year it has been! We never imagined that so much could change in such a short time. One thing that hasn’t changed and can never change is God’s love for us. This Advent as the Church cries out “O come, O come, Emmanuel,” we want to encourage you to ask Jesus to come into your heart more fully and to become a stronger foundation in your life. This time of Christmas also gives us the opportunity to see Christ in others as well as the charity we have for each other. 2020 has certainly been an interesting year for all of us. The church is very grateful for the continued financial contributions which have helped us very much. We are also very blessed for the food and money donations to our food pantry which have helped us to continue to feed our neighbors. Since April we have been able to distribute approximately 1400 bags of groceries to our neighbors who live nearby. We know parish traditions such as the monthly adult luncheons, various potluck dinners, serving the monthly meal at the Day Center for the Homeless, fundraisers and most important, daily and Sunday Mass are greatly missed by our community. We pray that one day those activities will bring us together again. While the parish office has done its best to communicate through emails and Facebook posts, we know we have failed in reaching out to our individual parishioners to check on them. We know many are isolated and technology may not be available. We also know many of our families with children are struggling with online school, loss of work hours and general stress. We are sorry and want you to know that you are all in our prayers. We are working on creating a ministry to communicate with our families better in the coming New Year. As 2020 comes to a close we pray for your wellbeing, health and safety. Peace to you all, Fr. Daniel and the office staff
